3 Reasons Why Your Workouts Aren’t Working Out!
Is this you, you’ve been working out for some time and but you still aren’t losing weight, why is that?
Here are 3 reasons why you’re not being as successful as you should be…
1 – Not watching what you eat – You know that feeling, you’ve pushed yourself hard at the gym today, so why not give yourself the odd treat now and then. Which is alright but if those treats are dense calorie ridden foods that make you go over your daily calorie allowance you’ve just shot yourself in the foot.
The basic equation of weight loss is you either need to reduce your calories to lose weight or exercise more to get rid of them, mess with this and your hips suffer the consequence.
If you’re finding it hard to control what you eat during your day why not use one of our tips and start a daily diet diary this way you can record your daily eating habits and find out where you’re going wrong.
2 – Your body has adapted to your exercise regime – The human body is a great thing and can adapt to different situations be that mental and physical. If you’re finding that you weight losses aren’t what they used to be it could be that you’re body has adapted and doesn’t have to use as much energy to do the same amount of work. You can fix this by mixing up your training with other activities that your body hasn’t done before or increase the length of time that you exercise.
3 – You’re not training hard enough – On this point you’re going to have to be honest with yourself, are you really pushing yourself hard when you exercise. You sessions may be only 20-30 minutes long but are you giving it your all for that period of time?
If you feel you need to up the tempo why not fill an mp3 player with your favorite up beat dance music or motivational music (e.g. ”Rocky theme”) and increase your exercising effort.
Finally, don’t look at your weighing scales as the enemy it’s just showing you where you are at this moment in time. The number may be depressing but remember it’s only your starting point every great journey has to start some where. Stay committed and think of where you want to go and there’s gonna be no stopping you!!!
