I know that title of this post sounds like a contradiction, and we’re always told to eat less to lose weight, but that a look at these 2 meals..

Eat More To Lose Weight

As you can see that meal on the left contains far more but yet still contains the same amount 525 calories .

The reason for the difference is that the one on the left is bulked up with added vegetables. Researchers at the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) have now discovered that although water is an important way of controlling how much you eat, its more beneficial to weight loss if the water is contained in your food rather than in a drinking glass.

The idea behind this is that food that contain a lot of water (like vegetables) stay longer in the stomach and give a fuller feeling for longer than a meal just washed down with a glass of water.

So the advice is, if you are dieting, pad out your meal with plenty of  vegetables but don’t forget starchy foods, meat and fish also have a important part to play in your diet.
