Whether one is a stay at home mom who craves adult conversation, an at home worker who misses the water cooler chit-chat from past jobs, or the business owner who wants to reach more of their target market, this form of social media fills a need. It makes it easier for people to connect with others in a way they might not have previously been able to.

1 – Instant Communication – While using weight loss forums is a great way to keep in touch with others, it fails on one point and that’s its responsiveness. You may post to a forum but it could take a day, week or more before someone gets back to you. But send out a small tweet and you can have an answer in an instant.

2 – Keep Up To Date – It can be hard keeping up to date with what’s the best dieting techniques or diets that are now available. But this is very easy now with Twitter. For example there are some people that are continually, surfing the internet finding sites and articles that can be of help to their followers. By simply clicking their follow button, you can now get in the loop and you’ll never be far from the latest breaking news on health and dieting.

3 – Finding like Minded People – If you’re a stay at home mom, you mightn’t want to get your weight loss advice from someone like a bodybuilder or fitness fanatic. But with Twitter, you can select and follow others like yourself in the same situation as you’re in. Whether that be stay at home mom’s etc.

4 – Support  From Others  - There can be days when you feel like giving up or you’re getting no support at home, but why not use the support and advice of your fellow Twitters for a quick pick me up to carry you through your day.

5 – Asking Questions – Are you dieting properly or will that fad diet give you the results you’re looking for?? Why not send a question in your tweet to your fellow dieters and get your answer. You could surf for the answer but you’ll probably get a more honest answer from other “Tweeters” that aren’t trying to sell you something online.
